Questions often askedFAQs
Do I need a consultation?

No! At the beginning of your appointment, we will discuss what's best for you, go over the procedure, and provide aftercare instructions. If you'd prefer to come in for a consultation for comfort reasons or to double-check that you're a candidate, we can certainly accommodate you!

How do I know which brow style to choose?

Feel free to read about all three styles of brows I offer on the main page! It's helpful to have an idea of what you might want. Ultimately, during your appointment, we will discuss your day-to-day life, your brow goals, and your skin type to determine which procedure is best for you.

Why is there a touch-up appointment?

Everyone's skin is different! Some may need a touch-up, and some may not. The touch-up is necessary because some areas of the brow, lips, or liner may take better than others. How YOU take care of them is crucial. Things like sleeping on your side may cause a brow to heal unevenly because the scabs could come off prematurely. Rubbing your eyes after a lash enhancement may cause scabs to fall off before they're ready. Biting your lips while they peel can remove pigment if the scabs don't come off naturally. Additionally, certain medications taken during the procedure may cause rejection.

When is the touch-up scheduled?

The touch-up is scheduled for no earlier than 4 weeks and no later than 6 weeks. It takes 4 weeks for your skin to fully heal and be ready for reopening. Your skin is important, and it's important to me to keep it looking as good as it did when you came in. Opening the skin too soon can cause damage, so we need to avoid that for optimal results.

Why can't I be on my period during my appointment?

Menstrual cycles affect us in many ways, especially when it comes to permanent makeup! You tend to be more sensitive during your cycle. Besides increased sensitivity, it also affects retention and color choice. You have a higher chance of issues during the appointment if you're on your period, so please keep that in mind when booking. Clients with shorter menstrual cycles (lasting 4-5 days) will be fine.

Does it hurt?

No! Nano/Combination brows are all numbed prior to the procedure. Powder/Ombre brows are done without numbing for the first pass, but we've had no complaints so far—most clients even fall asleep!

What if it does hurt?

If the initial pass is uncomfortable, it could depend on your sensitivity and skin type. If your skin has any sun damage or is more mature, you may feel the first pass more than others. Your menstrual cycle can also increase sensitivity. Remember, we can always numb before continuing!

Does lip blushing hurt?

You will be numbed for 25 minutes before we begin. After that, a secondary numbing cream will be applied to the open skin to ensure you and your lips stay comfortable! Your lips are the thinnest skin on the body, and any trauma to them will cause some swelling and redness.

Does the lash enhancement hurt?

You will be numbed for the first 25 minutes along your lash line. After each pass, we will apply secondary numbing cream. To date, no one has reported feeling pain—some say it just tickles!

How long will this all last?

The longevity of permanent makeup depends on your individual skin and how you care for it. Nano brows and combination brows will typically require yearly touch-ups to maintain "crisp hair strokes." Ombre/powder brows can last up to 3 years. Those with oilier skin may need touch-ups sooner. Ultimately, it comes down to your skin type and personal preference.

Reasons you may need to return sooner than later
  • How well you followed the aftercare instructions during the crucial 2-week healing period.
  • Your skin type.
  • Sun exposure and tanning beds.
  • Makeup products and oils you apply to your skin.
  • Medications you may take over the years can cause your permanent makeup to fade sooner.
  • Recent trauma to the body.
  • Mature skin.
